Google map art

I was inspired first and foremost by a cool picture I found by super famous superfamous designer, Folkert Gorter. This picture was on his Flickr, and showcased a circuitry-like landscape of roads in a small city amidst hills and rivers “somewhere in California.”

Here are the pictures I found and captured. I kept the location obscure to make it more interesting.

One thing that is boggling when looking at these pictures, which represent something macroscopic to us, are the very close parallels to the microscopic world — of blood vessels, of skin, of textures. It’s very intuitive to think of how connected the micro and macro are, as if one and the same.
